About Us

Hi, I'm Abi, a Sydney mum of two little train lovers!

TrainTopia began during the whirlwind of life with two kids under two, both completely obsessed with trains.

Like many parents, I wanted to spend more time with my kids and make the most of these early years, so I stepped away from my full-on corporate job (and yes, it was terrifying!).

After what felt like hundreds of visits to the same playgrounds & playgroups, and far too much time sitting at South Eveleigh watching the trains, I started craving something different. I wanted a place where my kids could really dive into imaginative train play, meet other children who shared their interests, and have fun in a relaxed, welcoming environment.

On our travels overseas, a friend introduced us to incredible train play events where kids were completely absorbed in huge tracks, racing their engines, and connecting with others. The atmosphere was simple, engaging and full of joy. I remember thinking, why doesn’t Sydney have something like this?

That thought stuck with me. So I decided to bring it home. Quite literally, in fact, carefully bundling treasure troves of Thomas trains and tracks into extra suitcases, and bringing them back to Sydney with us!

TrainTopia was created as a space for young children and their families to connect through play. We set up large Tomy motorised train tracks, ride-on trains, slides and themed play corners for colouring, dressing up and storytelling. It’s all about sparking creativity, building friendships and giving parents a chance to either join in or just enjoy watching their kids in their element.

Whether your child is mildly curious about trains or full-on obsessed, they’ll find something here to love. And we are so excited to meet fellow train-obsessed families too!

I hope you and your little ones can join us soon at TrainTopia,  where every child can be the conductor of their own little railway.
